FOP:
FOP (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva) is a rare genetic disorder in which bone forms in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissues. Bridges of extra bone form across the joints in characteristic patterns, progressively restricting movement. FOP is a disease in which the body produces not just too much bone, but an extra skeleton that immobilizes the joints of the body.


Symptoms:
Children with FOP appear normal at birth except for congenital malformations of the great toe. During the first or second decade of life, children form painful fibrous nodules over the neck, back, and shoulders which mature into bone in a process known as heterotopic ossification. FOP then progresses along the trunk and limbs of the body. These lesions slowly replace the body's muscles with normal appearing bone.

I'm Back

Hi,

I'm posting this after a year and a half blog hibernation.

Lots of changes in my Life during this 18 months period. Some struggle, lot of cherishable moments have happened.

Achieved a Important milestone in life, Yes!! I've got married. :-) Luckily to the girl i loved.

This happened on 3rd March 2006 @ Lord Muruga temple in Thiruthani.

I've hosted a website, http://www.sivapriya.org yet to decide on what shall be content of this site. Suggestions welcome!

Am I a human?

Let me start this post with My Deepest Sorrow for the Victims for the TSunami which hit the South East Asia and still threatening to do some more damage.

I went to Chennai (Currently I'm in Mumbai on a Project) for my personal work on 25th Dec 2004. I enjoyed the day with my friends and had a very lengthy conversation which lasted till early morning 4am. My plan for the day (26th Dec) was to go to a Theme Park which is away from chennai. Got up @ 8.00am n got the news from my mom that there was a Earth quake @ 6.45am. That did not bother me much becoz my mind was fully occupied with my trip to the Theme Park.

I had some offical work to do before i leave for my trip. So i started working for that and was very much irritated that the work dragged upto 12.30pm. Just after finishing the work i got a call from my home saying that there is a problem along the sea shore and the sea water has came inside the city and hence asking me to cancel my trip to the Theme Park (The theme park which i intended to visit was in sea shore). I really got cheezed of and told my people that i will leave to mumbai tonight itself and had a big fight. So they suggested me to go somewhere which is away from sea shore. so we selected another theme park which was in other end of the city.

We went to the theme park and had enjoyed our day without realising what a big calamity had struck the world.
